Art has always been a huge part of my life. As a lifelong resident of Crown Point, NY, in the heart of the Adirondacks, I’ve been surrounded by nature’s beauty. In my early years, I focused on pencil drawings, fashion illustration, and creating dimensional art. However, my art career was put on hold as life took me in a different direction, and I found myself immersed in a career in Human Resources. While art wasn’t my primary focus during this time, I poured my creative energy into encouraging my children’s interests in painting, drawing, and photography.

After a busy career, I suddenly found myself retired, with the time and freedom to return to my art journey. I launched my business, Maiden by the Lake, where I began creating upcycled, primitive art. I also shared my love for art through Make and Take classes, which allowed me to teach others how to create their own home decor—a passion that brought me great fulfillment. After nine years of teaching and creating countless pieces of primitive decor, signs, and wall art, I felt it was time for a change. I’d always wanted to paint fine art, so I enrolled in an online abstract class. This experience opened my mind and helped me develop my unique painting style, inspiring me to focus entirely on acrylic landscape paintings of the Adirondacks.

A year later, I entered the Sense of Place show at Ticonderoga Arts and won first place with my acrylic painting, Penfield Pond. It was an exciting honor to step into the world of landscape painting with such recognition. I can’t wait to see where this creative journey leads next.
